Prep time: 30 minutes
Difficulty: Easy

Sugar cookie dough, prepared (from mix or roll)
Assorted food coloring

  1. Preheat the oven according to the sugar cookie directions.
  2. Divide the cookie dough into three equal portions. Place the portions on a floured work surface and shape into shallow cups. Add a different color of food coloring to each portion of dough.
  3. Fold over the edges of each dough portion to enclose the food coloring and knead until the dough is evenly colored; add a bit of flour if the dough is too sticky.
  4. Shape the dough as desired by rolling and cutting or using cookie cutters or playdough cutters. Place cookies on a cookie sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Use an oven mitt to place in the oven as directed by sugar cookie mix/roll instructions. Use oven mitt to remove from oven and place cookies on a wire rack to cool.
