How it works

The Kashi grant will be used to enhance the GIRLSrock! the kitchen program, which specifically addresses the issue of childhood obesity. The program consists of hands-on cooking workshops designed to encourage girls to make healthy eating choices. Topics include identifying portion size, making healthy snacks, eating fruits and vegetables, including whole grains, and drinking healthier beverages.

What’s the impact?

Whether they leave with a newfound love of a food they had never tried, a new way of looking at what they eat, or a better understanding of the healthy choices out there, JLR hopes that GIRLSrock! the kitchen will inspire girls to be balanced and healthy eaters for their whole lives.
