(Strawberry Yogurt pie recipe can be found on page 126)

Summer is here and school’s out, meaning many moms and dads will be looking for ways to keep the kids occupied during the long summer days. Why not get the kids in the kitchen to make some snacks and treats that are healthy and fun? Junior Leagues’ In The Kitchen With Kids: Everyday Recipes & Activities for Healthy Living is loaded with heart-healthy recipes, tips and valuable healthy eating information contributed by Junior League members across the Association. Published by long-time Junior League cookbook publisher, Favorite Recipes Press (FRP), the book was released in spring 2009 as a companion to the Junior Leagues’ In The Kitchen With Kids initiative, which promotes healthy lifestyles through hands-on learning.

A perfect (and easy to make) summertime recipe is the cookbook’s Strawberry Yogurt Pie (pictured left). Utilizing just four ingredients, the recipe couldn’t be any simpler and can be found on page 126 of Junior Leagues’ In The Kitchen With Kids.

Junior Leagues’ In the Kitchen with Kids is a great resource for introducing children to nutrition and healthy eating.
